Collages and other works together
2005-2006
Meeting someone and feeling friendly is one thing. But testing the
relation could end the dream...
Here is le result of our test : different works and this huge collage.
We started with mutual portraits, then considered
doing a "four hands" project.
We started this collage as a game, a correspondence between each other.
Using a large support, not to make something big but because it was
available, thinking to cut it after sometimes, when the need would
occur. We deliberately did not choose a topic or a style. The collage
in its natural evolution and our mutual experiences in art was to
lead us. At first, one pasted just a paper in the color and shape
of her choice, it was like a letter in color. After "reading",
the other answered with another paper and so on.
This correspondence lasted one year on the same project, and the result
is a "box" called "who am I? Who are we?"
Our individual styles are different. But working
together, a third style arose spontaneously. We did not only work
together and create a new way for us: It was not solely the story
of a friendship, it was a spiritual happening : we were flowing with
the proposals. Our ego had to surrender at the service of art.
Here is the testimony of a most sincere and deep gift of oneself and
of a communion through the matter.
With real consideration for each other, real desire to discover oneself
and the other, through this work, we have approached, lived, integrated
our differences and were able to deeply materialize and feel the quality
of our encounter.
Naturally, the adventure did not stop and we carry
on working together !
